mad about orange!
September 7, 2010
This morning I woke up and everything was grey. How drab… Here’s a fun shot of color. Please enjoy my spotlight on one of Holly’s favorite colors and all the fun it has to offer!
Did you know…
* Orange is said to stimulate activity and your appetite
* It also promotes socialization; which might be why Native Americans associate it with kinship
* The great artist, Kandinsky, once said, “Orange is red brought nearer to humanity by yellow”
* The color orange was extremely important in the Elizabethan Era. English Law even dictated who could and who could not wear this color of status!
* Watch Ken Nordine’s smooth and cheeky poem ‘orange’ come to life on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JH8Ir1djOAs&feature=related
In this collage, I have found some fun orange items for your house!
- The sofa/ bunk bed is from MobileForm. How cool is this?! 🙂
- The fun console table is from Somerset Bay
- The floral fabric can be found at Kravet
- The pendant light is sourced from Currey & Company
- The plates and mugs with orange spoons are from CB2
cheers!
