custom window treatments: in process
September 22, 2011
One of our fabulous clients in Uptown in Minneapolis is anxiously awaiting her master bedroom window treatments. They will finish off her 3rd floor master nicely by adding color, texture, and by blocking the light on bright mornings.
Dawn, the talent behind Creative Coverings (our go-to workroom), sent us pictures as she’s constructing the panels this week…

Here, you can see how Dawn is prepping the lining by ironing it down and pinning it before she sews. This will then be attached to the panel fabric.
fabric inspiration: Marc Alexander
July 6, 2011
Last week, Dianna from KDR Showrooms at IMS sat down with me and showed me the new Marc Alexander fabric collection… It is so stunning!
The muted colors, rich textures, and delicate prints blew me away. This collection is what is inspiring me this week.
Here are some of my favorites from that showing:

From top left to bottom right: (chair) Artisan Colleciton, (striped fabric) Woodstock Collection, (textured fabric) Village Collection, (floral chair) Artisan Collection
The new collection has such a wide variety of styles and feels that, depending on how they are mixed and matched and what the application is, it could have a very elegant/ contemporary feel, or a delicate/ traditional feel.
It was so fun to get my samples in the mail and start playing with combinations of textures, stripes, prints and more!
april showers…
April 26, 2011
The saying goes: “April Shower Bring May Flowers”. Well, so far it seems like April showers bring MORE April showers!
I think rainy days are good for staying in and catching up with your latest book while sipping hot tea or popping in a movie or two and enjoying some cuddle time on the sofa. What are your favorite rainy day activities?
Here are some ‘rainy day products’ to get you through the next couple of rainy days. Then hopefully we will see some May flowers next week!
