spring is here!

March 21, 2012

We are in the mood for spring!

It officially hit yesterday, and just like that, the grass is getting greener by the day!

Let’s celebrate all things fabulously green!

1. Chandelier Earrings (Stella and Dot). 2. Villa Dress (J. Crew). 3. Playhouse (Crate and Barrel). 4. Luck Side Table (CB2). 5. Leather sandals (Aldo). 6. Green Rock Bench (Francis King Showroom).

7. Picnic silverware (West Elm). 8. Marimekko bowl (Crate and Barrel). 9. Green floral wallpaper (KDR Showrooms). 10. Glass pendant (Francis King Showrooms). 11. Green and gold bracelet (Anthropologie). 12. Green maxi skirt (J. Crew). 13. Window panels (Anthropologie).

Taking more inspiration from Pantone’s prediction of the hot color trends for spring 2012, we’ve showcased two more color combos on the blog today. Take a look…

The first scheme features a daring Ikat fabric from Schumacher that features navy, margarita, tangerine, and grape. Along with this fabric, there is a white Tulip chair with green cushion from Design Within Reach, a tangerine glass pendant from Francis King, and a blue console table from Room and Board.

Our second color combo is also a bold one! This graphic print from KDR showcases tangerine, marigold, grape, hot pink, margarita, navy, bright blue, and sandy taupe. Furnishings that go along with this color scheme include a painted cabinet from KDR, a ceramic based lamp from Crate and Barrel, and a stylish blue chair from Blu Dot.

Would you use either of these color schemes in your home? If so, which room?

It’s Valentine’s Day.  The roses, chocolate, and handmade poems are in full swing, it’s true. Here are some lighting, furniture, accessories, and more pulled together with this day of love in mind.  These pieces could add a splash of color (and love) to your home everyday!

1. Fuchsia chandelier from Francis King; 2. Kissing Giraffes Rug from Jonathan Adler; 3. Red lacquer bench from Bolier; 4. Mr. & Mrs. Salt and Pepper shakers from Jonathan Adler; 5. Red painted chest from Francis King; 6. Magenta pendant from Francis King; 7. Poppies floral tile mosaic from BonTon Tile at Rubble Tile; 8. Red cocktail table from Francis King; 9. Pink indoor/ outdoor stackable chair from Rich Rosenberg; 10. Flamingo writing desk from KDR Showrooms.

We hauthaus gals love to go out and see what’s new and hot on the market.  Recently we went to Francis King at IMS and got the inside scoop on the new lighting trends this summer. Here are some of our favorites from a manufacturer that operates domestically in the United States… gotta love that!

Lollipop red pendant

This curvy pendant is made of bent wire. It would add a surprise pop of color into any room, and the classic lines of the piece will ensure it looks great in the space for years to come.

Re-used burlap table light

Old burlap flour sacks are used to create this one of a kind table lamp. Each lamp is different, which adds to it’s authenticity and whimsy. What a great way to put these old, unused flour sacks to good use!

Mid mod pendant

The manufacturer uses gracefully curved wood and a linen shade to evoke a mid-century modern feel.  This is pendant offers a clean and timeless look.

We loved these light fixtures because of their innovation, use of green, recycled materials, and the fact that they are produced right here in the US. What fun lights!

cheers, amber
