zen color scheme

July 22, 2011

What makes this bathroom have a calming, zen feeling?

Earthy, zen color scheme.

  •   The soft, muted greens and blues create a calming effect.
  • River stones, incorporated into the floor design, are reminiscent of a zen rock garden. They evoke tranquility.
  • The curved back of the chair softens the straight lines of the tile and wood tub surround. Balance is key.

Have you been to the ASID Showcase Homes yet? …Well? What are you waiting for?!

Holly and I designed the front porch at the Lake of the Isles home, and we are so excited for you to see it!

Here is a little sneak peek of what you’ll find.

This beautiful Weiman table was found at Spinario and outfitted with a brand new ‘Waverton’ Cambria top.  The red is a great pop of color in the room!

Fiddle Leaf Fig trees anchor the ends of the porch. They provide a sense of privacy from the house next door.

The fans are both beautiful and functional in the space.

Also to note: an unexpected flooring material that is used on the ceiling, original Douglas Fir flooring, various antiques from the homeowner’s collection as well as a number from Spinario, and new Grange outdoor furniture.

Stop by and create some origami on the porch at the large Nazareno wood table!

cheers, amber
