Happy first official day of fall!

Every season we gather our favorite things to do, scoop them up, and serve them to you piping hot on our blog… this season is no different! Here are some of our musts!

1. Sever’s Corn Maze & More! This is the ultimate place for kiddies (and grown-ups)! There is truly something for everyone: corn maze, exotic animal petting zoo, pig races, corn pit, HUGE bouncy pillows, magic shows and more! Now – end of Oct. http://www.severscornmaze.com/index.php

2. Taste! The Twin Cities Wine and Dine Festival at TCF Bank Staduim is THE event for food and wine tastings, along with demos and classes by renowned chefs and wine experts. September 30th and October 1st.  http://www.mspmag.com/promotions/wherewe’llbe/taste11/default.asp

3. Emma Krumbees Apple Orchard and Scarecrow Festival. A fun place to visit during the apple-picking season thru October. They have berries and pumpkins too, along with pony rides and petting zoo. Stop at the general store while you’re there to pick up some homemade goodies! Now – end of Oct. www.emmakrumbees.com

4. Cowles Center for Dance & the Performing Arts. The newest theater to open downtown has performances and classes in all things dance. It’s only been open for a couple weeks and it’s already generating buzz. Check out their calendar of events for upcoming shows. http://www.thecowlescenter.org

5. Restaurant Week. October 23-28 you can try bunches of new restaurants as they put their best menu forward for quite a deal. 6. Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Autumn Harvest day on October 9th. See dance performances and story telling all about the harvest season, see art inspired by fall crops, create your own landscape art and more! Free admission every day! http://www.artsmia.org/index.php?section_id=9&ev_id=4246

7. See live music. We live in a city full of theaters and stages… get out a see live music this fall, it will jazz you up! A couple of ideas: Madeleiene Peyroux at The Guthrie or St. Vincent at the Cedar Cultural Center perhaps!

8. Art Attack. The Northrup King Building is opening up its doors for it’s annual fall art festival. See the works of painters, sculptors, jewelry makers and much more! Enter in a drawing for a chance to win $500 in Art Bucks. It’s a perfec time to get out and enjoy the Minneapolis art scene and the crispy fall weather. 9. Pick up the Sept-Oct issue of Midwest Home. In it, you’ll find one of our hauthaus master bathroom remodel  projects highlighted, along with interior design tips to better utilize your bathroom. Found at magazine racks near you!

10. Take an art class! There are tons of fun classes offered at the Textile Center on University in Minneapolis. They have everything from stitching to dyeing from felting to quilting!
