showroom tour: francis king

January 18, 2012

Francis King, Ltd. is one of our favorite furniture showrooms at IMS. Charlie, Mary, Lynn, Kali and Petra are all wonderful – they help us find our clients some wonderfully unique pieces for their homes.  The last time we were in their showroom, we snapped some pictures of the new furniture and accessories they have.

You’ll notice lots of color for 2012…

Chairs and a decorative pillow from Francis King showroom.

Above: These two upholstered chairs have beautiful soft curved lines and can be custom ordered  to be upholstered in endless choices of fabric.

Above: The bold snail pillow adds a pop of color and whimsy to sofa or chair.  The pillow’s poppy-tangerine and watery blue are some of Pantone’s colors for Spring.

Color takes center stage in th Francis King showroom.

Above: Color definitely is taking center stage this season in the showroom. You can find purple upholstered chairs, amber colored hurricanes, bright red garden stools, bold green accessories and much, much more.

Another benefit to this wonderful showroom is that they feature many made in America furniture lines.

Francis King sells to the trade only so if you’d like a peek to see what could work in your home, give us a call – we’d be glad to give you a showroom tour.

Tile can add another layer of interest and texture to any space; bathrooms, mudrooms, kitchens, etc.

Below, you’ll see some Before and After pictures of a kitchen our clients’ condo Downtown Minneapolis where we added some pizzazz by adding in a tile back splash.  When we were sourcing the tile we needed to keep in mind that it needed to work with the existing granite counter tops and it also had to be neutral enough to work with the flow of the main living space of the condo since it features an open floor plan where the dining room, home office and living room area all connected.

We ended up selecting a beautiful  handcrafted tile made with 70% recycled glass in a brick pattern from Fantasia Showrooms at IMS for this project.

The finished result is quite beautiful!

Holly and I love to stay inspired and know what’s going on in the design world.

Whether it’s learning about the newest happenings in green design, an interior design/art-related event that’s happening locally or the latest and greatest fabric collections at International Market Square, you can bet that we’ll be there. This helps up be knowledgeable for our fantastic clients and helps us to be the best designers we can be!

This morning we visited Kravet/ Lee Jofa showrooms at IMS for a trunk show preview of their newest fabrics and styles. We’d love to share a snippet with you what we saw…

What exciting news! The Lee Jofa fabric showroom is bringing Lilly Pulitzer’s colorful and lively fashion style to their showroom and to your home!

Watch this video for a mini history of Lilly Pulitzer and a preview of the wonderful colors and patterns that they are introducing:

So, what did you think? Did you see a fabric that you’d love to use in your home (or new dress)? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

fall colors

September 15, 2011

Cooling temperatures means that it’s my favorite season of the year!

Fall!

I love it: I love the cool, sunny weather… being able to wear my boots…the wonderful smells of crispy leaves… AND the beautiful fall colors!

We perused one of our go-to showrooms at IMS, Francis King, for furniture, lighting, and accessories in the warm reds, oranges, and yellows of the season.  Here’s what we found to inspire you on how to bring these fall colors into your home this season and year round…

‘cool’ summer sales

July 20, 2011

Whew! It’s been hot, hot, hot in Minneapolis the past few days… but keep your chin up, we’re almost done with this heat wave!

If you’re looking for ways to stay cool today (and thru the month of July) stop on over to Roam Interiors on Glenwood across the street from IMS. They are having a moving sale with 40-60% off their amazing home decor items! AND you’re in luck! They are one of our favorite places to go for accessories. Their stuff is so cool… (pun intended). Once their move is complete, you will be able to find them in Uptown.

Roam offers great kitchen products, gifts, home accessories, locally made jewelry and more! (A great place to get that one-of-a-kind gift for an upcoming wedding, birthday, or anniversary!)

Also, while over near IMS, you really should swing on over to the lovely Baker Showroom. They are holding their July “Clean Sweep” event with weekly deals. And yes, they are open to the public during this sale… 75% off retail pricing. How great is that?

At Baker you’ll find furniture, home accents, pillows and lighting. Who knows… maybe that one piece that will finish off your room is waiting for you at Baker!

One of the best parts about both of these sales, besides the amazing deals? AIR CONDITIONING!!! 🙂

think spring!

March 8, 2011

I vote for no more snow! 🙂

Spring Break is just around the corner. Hopefully you have a fun trip to somewhere warm planned, but if not, here are some fabulous outdoor furniture pieces from Casual Contract at International Market Square to get you thinking about spring!

Which of these comfy pieces can you picture yourself lounging in?

I could go for a long, sunny afternoon in the woven piece with the sun shade!
