Some of you might remember this note:

Well after the demo, construction, design, and installation of Joey’s bathroom he approves!

We had everything ripped out down to the studs. Some highlights of the room:

  • We chose a deep blue for the walls
  • We designed a mushroom colored double vanity so each boy has his own sink.
  •  In a bathroom for two boys a Cambria top seemed like a no-brainer! – we used Sussex.
  • The custom window treatments allowed us to put in a shelf for their bobblehead collection.
  • The boys’ parents and grandparents were very involved in sports back in their high school and college days, just like the boys are now, so we had newspaper clippings and pictures of framed in a collection of black and metallic frames to hang in the bathroom.
  • The shower features tile EVERYWHERE for easy clean-ability.

We wanted to carry the vintage sports concept through the bathroom so the wood panelling, hooks, and shelves are reminiscent of a locker room.

A peek at the shower tile and deco glass tile.

Here are some of the framed sports pictures that line the 'gallery' entrance into the bathroom.

Master bathroom project

December 13, 2011

Recently, we finished a master bathroom project and would like to share some of the ‘after’ snapshots and hauthaus drawings with you, our loyal reader!

Below, you’ll see the floor plan which shows the door to the bathroom is directly off of the bedroom (at the top of the drawing). The tall linen cabinet and double sink vanity are opposite the wall with the free standing bathtub and glass shower enclosure.  We included a special make-up area for our client on the other side of the shower. The door at the end of the bathroom leads to the walk-in closet.

finished: Izzy’s bathroom

December 9, 2011

We blogged recently about Izzy’s bathroom and showed you a ‘behind the scenes’ snippet of what went in to building it…

Well now it’s done! Check out the final shots of the bathroom from all angles.

Here's Izzy's bathroom with the mirror, lights, and towel bars in place. See her lovely white and black mosaic floor tiles, the fun pop of glacier blue deco tiles on the walls, and Benjamin Moore's Dill Pickle on the walls!

The top shot shows inside Izzy's shower. We continued the deco tile in there, as well as the white subway tile. We had shampoo shelves installed to keep the bottles off of the floor. The bottom shot shows the bathroom from the shower area. There is a lowe vanity seat for Izzy to practice her make-up!

izzy’s bathroom progress

November 30, 2011

Here are some snapshots of Izzy's bathroom progress.

Izzy is a stylish little girl who is not afraid of color… and boy oh boy does her bathroom have it!

Check out this behind-the-scenes look at how her very own bathroom is turning out!

1. Since this floor will get tile, the installers had to make sure that the floor was level… they poured the leveling agent and taped off the room to prep for it.

2. The floor tile was laid and is being hidden (and protected) under paper as the installers work on the white subway tile walls and glacier blue accent ribbon.

3. The shower tile is up and the rest of the wall tile is getting close! The White Ice granite counter tops were installed too…

4. After the tile and counter tops, the plumbers, electricians, and painters are itching to get in!

It's painted!

With the bathroom freshly painted, the mirror, artwork, and accessories will finish off the bathroom!

I bet Izzy’s is so excited to move in – wouldn’t you be!?
