boys’ bathroom: an ode to sports
January 23, 2012
Some of you might remember this note:
Well after the demo, construction, design, and installation of Joey’s bathroom he approves!
We had everything ripped out down to the studs. Some highlights of the room:
- We chose a deep blue for the walls
- We designed a mushroom colored double vanity so each boy has his own sink.
- In a bathroom for two boys a Cambria top seemed like a no-brainer! – we used Sussex.
- The custom window treatments allowed us to put in a shelf for their bobblehead collection.
- The boys’ parents and grandparents were very involved in sports back in their high school and college days, just like the boys are now, so we had newspaper clippings and pictures of framed in a collection of black and metallic frames to hang in the bathroom.
- The shower features tile EVERYWHERE for easy clean-ability.
Master bathroom project
December 13, 2011
Recently, we finished a master bathroom project and would like to share some of the ‘after’ snapshots and hauthaus drawings with you, our loyal reader!
Below, you’ll see the floor plan which shows the door to the bathroom is directly off of the bedroom (at the top of the drawing). The tall linen cabinet and double sink vanity are opposite the wall with the free standing bathtub and glass shower enclosure. We included a special make-up area for our client on the other side of the shower. The door at the end of the bathroom leads to the walk-in closet.
finished: Izzy’s bathroom
December 9, 2011
We blogged recently about Izzy’s bathroom and showed you a ‘behind the scenes’ snippet of what went in to building it…
Well now it’s done! Check out the final shots of the bathroom from all angles.

Here's Izzy's bathroom with the mirror, lights, and towel bars in place. See her lovely white and black mosaic floor tiles, the fun pop of glacier blue deco tiles on the walls, and Benjamin Moore's Dill Pickle on the walls!

The top shot shows inside Izzy's shower. We continued the deco tile in there, as well as the white subway tile. We had shampoo shelves installed to keep the bottles off of the floor. The bottom shot shows the bathroom from the shower area. There is a lowe vanity seat for Izzy to practice her make-up!
