izzy’s bathroom progress

November 30, 2011

Here are some snapshots of Izzy's bathroom progress.

Izzy is a stylish little girl who is not afraid of color… and boy oh boy does her bathroom have it!

Check out this behind-the-scenes look at how her very own bathroom is turning out!

1. Since this floor will get tile, the installers had to make sure that the floor was level… they poured the leveling agent and taped off the room to prep for it.

2. The floor tile was laid and is being hidden (and protected) under paper as the installers work on the white subway tile walls and glacier blue accent ribbon.

3. The shower tile is up and the rest of the wall tile is getting close! The White Ice granite counter tops were installed too…

4. After the tile and counter tops, the plumbers, electricians, and painters are itching to get in!

It's painted!

With the bathroom freshly painted, the mirror, artwork, and accessories will finish off the bathroom!

I bet Izzy’s is so excited to move in – wouldn’t you be!?

While we are knee-deep in selections this week, the construction crew at Fred Nordahl Construction is knee-deep in lumber!

One of our summer new-build projects is in full swing this month and this week we stopped out on the job site to snap a few pictures of the progress.

The new home from the end of the driveway. You can see the two garage stalls on the left, the large window in the dining room, and the two-story foyer.

Here you can see the crew hard at work. Andrew is lifting the plywood up to the second floor to be installed so the second floor walls can go in next.

Trusses in waiting. The roof trusses will go on after the second floor goes up at the end of this week.

View inside the kitchen. The large window by Holly is where the sink will be placed. This kitchen will feature wood floors, enamelled cabinets, and an eat-in table by the far window.

This will be the new home of a family of four and the matriarch of the family, DD. It features a main floor master suite for DD as well as a complete ADA bathroom and laundry room.  The second floor master suite is home to a free-standing cast iron tub and walk in closet. The kids each have their own rooms with walk in closets and built-in window seats as well as a ‘secret room’ in the lower level.

Stay tuned for pictures of this home’s progress as well as after shots when it’s finished!
