chairs, chairs, chairs

It’s a new year, and perhaps you’ve saved up for a new comfy chair, sofa, or dining table…

One thing to remember about purchasing furniture for your home is that it’s important that you LOVE each piece. Let’s take a look at four chairs that live in the same home… the homeowner loves each one and they all work together.

1. This chair was spotted at an antique shop in St. Paul – the purple fabric and petite size make it absolutely fabulous!

2. This little Danish desk chair was at Spinario Design and with a little re-upholstery job – it fits right in!

3. This is just one of a pair of woven Columbian chairs. They add texture and interest and are very comfortable!

4.  These retro dining chairs have amazing lines and a great sit. They were given a face-lift with snazzy, new fabric.

Let us take you shopping to our favorite spots around town – we’re sure to find something you’ll love!  To make an appointment email us at info@hauthaus.com.

design tips: vol. 3

September 30, 2010

Greetings to all!

It’s time for another installment of our hauthaus design tips for your home!

FRONT ENTRY TIP:  A bright, colorful console or coat rack, a favorite piece of artwork and/or  fresh flowers will energize your entry and express who you are.

Your home should welcome you at the front step and project your design style with gusto!  Make a statement and make sure it carries through from one room to the next.

HOME OFFICE TIP:  Be sure to have the supplies you use regularly organized and in abundance.  A well stocked home office and a comfortable desk chair will encourage you to go in and sit down for a bit.

Task lighting and a paper recycling bin or shredder will make you even more efficient at managing your correspondences.

FAMILY ROOM TIP:  Make this gathering space purposeful.  Are there games nearby?  Cozy blankets within reach and stain resistant fabric on the sofa?  Coasters and good reading material close by?

The TV doesn’t have to be the only source of entertainment.  If there are alternatives handy, like a deck of cards, they will likely be used!
