One of our current projects is getting a new master suite… see pictures of the progress so far!

Progress shots of the master bathroom.

a. This picture shows the toilet room floor. We used a 12″ x 24″ tile with a glass mosaic as an accent on the floor.

b.The master walk-in shower features a waterfall of mosaic tiles in shades of watery blues, earthy greens, crisp whites, and soft browns. It adds a nice detail to the shower wall while giving us a chance to put some interest and color on the wall.

c. Here, you can see the beginnings of the custom, curved edge vanity. The cabinet will be finished with enamel and entire back wall and side walls will get mirror applied to them.

d. This is a sweet little ‘beauty’ shot of the vanity up close. The curves add a nice feminine touch to the bathroom. This will be the perfect place to sit to enjoy coffee and get ready for the day, or to unwind in the evening.

showroom tour: francis king

January 18, 2012

Francis King, Ltd. is one of our favorite furniture showrooms at IMS. Charlie, Mary, Lynn, Kali and Petra are all wonderful – they help us find our clients some wonderfully unique pieces for their homes.  The last time we were in their showroom, we snapped some pictures of the new furniture and accessories they have.

You’ll notice lots of color for 2012…

Chairs and a decorative pillow from Francis King showroom.

Above: These two upholstered chairs have beautiful soft curved lines and can be custom ordered  to be upholstered in endless choices of fabric.

Above: The bold snail pillow adds a pop of color and whimsy to sofa or chair.  The pillow’s poppy-tangerine and watery blue are some of Pantone’s colors for Spring.

Color takes center stage in th Francis King showroom.

Above: Color definitely is taking center stage this season in the showroom. You can find purple upholstered chairs, amber colored hurricanes, bright red garden stools, bold green accessories and much, much more.

Another benefit to this wonderful showroom is that they feature many made in America furniture lines.

Francis King sells to the trade only so if you’d like a peek to see what could work in your home, give us a call – we’d be glad to give you a showroom tour.

fall colors

September 15, 2011

Cooling temperatures means that it’s my favorite season of the year!

Fall!

I love it: I love the cool, sunny weather… being able to wear my boots…the wonderful smells of crispy leaves… AND the beautiful fall colors!

We perused one of our go-to showrooms at IMS, Francis King, for furniture, lighting, and accessories in the warm reds, oranges, and yellows of the season.  Here’s what we found to inspire you on how to bring these fall colors into your home this season and year round…

Happy fall!

This week is back to school! (insert collective sigh of relief here!)

While the kiddies are back to it, you can hopefully start putting your house back together and start to look back at your home’s ‘to-do’ list. It will be nice to get some things buttoned up and polished before the holiday entertaining starts up!

Here at hauthaus every September, we begin our countdown to the holidays… since most furniture and lighting factories allow 6-8 weeks for shipping of product, we thought we’d put together a list of dates to order by if you’re thinking of some new additions for the upcoming holidays. I know, I know… we all still have summer and back-to-school on the brain, but my-oh-my do these dates sneak up quickly!!

Countdown to Thanksgiving:

  • 12 weeks – September 1st (orders to be placed for most custom upholstery furniture and window treatments)
  • 8 weeks – September 29th (orders to be placed for some furniture pieces)
  • 4 weeks – October 27th (orders to be placed for lighting, artwork framing, and home accessory pieces)

Countdown to Christmas:

  • 12 weeks – October 2nd (orders to be placed for some custom upholstery furniture and window treatments)
  • 8 weeks – October 30th  (orders to be placed for most furniture pieces)
  • 4 weeks – November 27th (orders to be placed for lighting, artwork framing, and home accessory pieces)

Let Holly and I know how we can help you get ready!

A couple of blog entries ago, we shared a sketch for custom Kravet bench upholstery and  pillow fabrics… here is the follow-up “After” picture with a snap of what the space looked like before we started any work.

Sketch for custom bench and pillows

In this project on Clearwater Lake, we designed custom cabinetry with a dark espresso stain to contrast with the cedar plank walls that are in the rest of the cabin. Once we took the brick out (seen in the before image), we carried that planking through the kitchen to create a cohesive look.

The tile was handmade for our project and sourced at Rubble Tile. We selected pretty tones of blues, greens, and dark blue/ almost black.

After: custom cabinetry, bench, and tile

In the ‘Before’ picture (below) you can see that we took out the two windows on the side and added one in the middle. (Where the fireplace was, the bench is now in the ‘after’.)  By taking out the corner window, we were able to get in a concierge station for the phone, phone books, TV, and kids craft supplies.

After: custom bench and tile detail.

The project is coming to a close, we have a couple small details to take care of yet… as those finish up, stay tuned for pictures of the fully completed project!

cheers.
