kitchen window treatment installation

This summer we transformed our clients’ standard white kitchen to a va-va, deep espresso place to cook, bake and gather.  The clients wanted to update their kitchen cabinets while keeping their granite. We saved the pretty granite and paired it with espresso stained cabinets, Tuscan bronze hardware, crackled ceramic back splash tiles, and a new paint job.

Here is the kitchen before we re-vamped the space with new cabinets, paint, and window treatments.

After the walls were painted and the cabinets were installed, the kitchen was missing something – window treatments! We designed panels to frame the tall windows that overlook the beautiful backyard in this wooden Minnetonka neighborhood.

In order to install these panels on the angled walls, our window treatment gal, Dawn, created a unique way to hang the treatments so we would get our desired look; pleats with a rosette as an accent on each panel.

Dawn built little platforms with holes so the hooks of each panel can hang from them.

After each panel was hung, we had a rosette installed to add a little interest at the top of the treatments. The rosette's finish ties in with the finish on the hardware in the kitchen.
