We are always dreaming up fun and fantastic spaces here at hauthaus, and today is no different! Here you can see a snapshot of a quick idea for a little girls’ room; inspired by and for a girl who loves nature and creativity – what little girl wouldn’t want to live here?!

Our inspiration palette for a little girl's room.

We pulled Romo and Villa Romo fabrics together to act as a starting point for this bedroom. We’ll need fabrics that can be easily washed so we chose cotton for most of the applications.

This room has many spots for fun fabrics: drapery panels, an upholstered headboard, an upholstered chair, floor and bed pillows.

Color palette inspiration

The color palette is kept fun and fresh with crisp white, bright pink, light green, earthy violet, and a sky blue.

Wonder what we could dream up for you?  🙂

If you’re looking at your living room and thinking that it looks a little tired and needs a quick pick-me-up, we have the perfect solution for you… pillows!

Pillows are a great way to quickly change the look and feel of  your room or to add a pop of color where it’s needed.  They are easy to change in an out with the seasons and let’s face it, they are fun to shop for… all of the new colors, patterns, and textures… ooh!

A tip for mixing and matching pillows: grab a couple in the same color family or that have colors that are repeated in a few. It’s good to make sure you have a variety of patterns: think maybe a stripe, an animal print or large floral, and a texture…  (And don’t forget to add in a solid velvet pillow or two – they are perfect for nap time on the sofa!)

(This is a collage of pillows from Anthropologie, CB2, Crate & Barrel, and West Elm. )

custom hauthaus bedding

January 21, 2010

Custom bedding is a way to add that special ‘pizzazz’ to your bedroom. With our endless supply to stunning fabrics at various showrooms at IMS, and our super-fab workroom that can create anything we dream up, your bedroom re-design will be totally you.

In the project to the right, we used a washable, berry and white swirly fabric for the duvet cover, chocolate velvet on two round decorative pillows, and a highly textured berry- colored fabric with a mocha sateen border on the pillow shams.

We tied the colors of the bedding into the new sheer window treatments by adding two strips of velvet near the top of the treatment by the drapery hardware. The end result was a great, custom look that the customer loves!
