It officially hit yesterday, and just like that, the grass is getting greener by the day!

Let’s celebrate all things fabulously green!

1. Chandelier Earrings (Stella and Dot). 2. Villa Dress (J. Crew). 3. Playhouse (Crate and Barrel). 4. Luck Side Table (CB2). 5. Leather sandals (Aldo). 6. Green Rock Bench (Francis King Showroom).

7. Picnic silverware (West Elm). 8. Marimekko bowl (Crate and Barrel). 9. Green floral wallpaper (KDR Showrooms). 10. Glass pendant (Francis King Showrooms). 11. Green and gold bracelet (Anthropologie). 12. Green maxi skirt (J. Crew). 13. Window panels (Anthropologie).

Taking more inspiration from Pantone’s prediction of the hot color trends for spring 2012, we’ve showcased two more color combos on the blog today. Take a look…

The first scheme features a daring Ikat fabric from Schumacher that features navy, margarita, tangerine, and grape. Along with this fabric, there is a white Tulip chair with green cushion from Design Within Reach, a tangerine glass pendant from Francis King, and a blue console table from Room and Board.

Our second color combo is also a bold one! This graphic print from KDR showcases tangerine, marigold, grape, hot pink, margarita, navy, bright blue, and sandy taupe. Furnishings that go along with this color scheme include a painted cabinet from KDR, a ceramic based lamp from Crate and Barrel, and a stylish blue chair from Blu Dot.

Would you use either of these color schemes in your home? If so, which room?

Welcome to our analysis of Pantone’s color trends for spring, 2012.

We’ve taken the colors that Pantone picked to be hot this spring and matched them up with new fabrics and furnishings to show you how you can incorporate these new colors into your home.

The first color scheme features pinks, blues and neutrals.

The items from this color scheme can be found at: fabric at Schumacher showroom at IMS, blue table and pink vanity at KDR Showroom at IMS, and blue chair at Room and Board.
The second color scheme picked from the spring colors features the new color of the season, Tangerine Tango, along with olive, grape and navy.

Holly and I love to stay inspired and know what’s going on in the design world.

Whether it’s learning about the newest happenings in green design, an interior design/art-related event that’s happening locally or the latest and greatest fabric collections at International Market Square, you can bet that we’ll be there. This helps up be knowledgeable for our fantastic clients and helps us to be the best designers we can be!

This morning we visited Kravet/ Lee Jofa showrooms at IMS for a trunk show preview of their newest fabrics and styles. We’d love to share a snippet with you what we saw…

What exciting news! The Lee Jofa fabric showroom is bringing Lilly Pulitzer’s colorful and lively fashion style to their showroom and to your home!

Watch this video for a mini history of Lilly Pulitzer and a preview of the wonderful colors and patterns that they are introducing:

So, what did you think? Did you see a fabric that you’d love to use in your home (or new dress)? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

We are always dreaming up fun and fantastic spaces here at hauthaus, and today is no different! Here you can see a snapshot of a quick idea for a little girls’ room; inspired by and for a girl who loves nature and creativity – what little girl wouldn’t want to live here?!

Our inspiration palette for a little girl's room.

We pulled Romo and Villa Romo fabrics together to act as a starting point for this bedroom. We’ll need fabrics that can be easily washed so we chose cotton for most of the applications.

This room has many spots for fun fabrics: drapery panels, an upholstered headboard, an upholstered chair, floor and bed pillows.

Color palette inspiration

The color palette is kept fun and fresh with crisp white, bright pink, light green, earthy violet, and a sky blue.

Wonder what we could dream up for you?  🙂

Last week, Dianna from KDR Showrooms at IMS sat down with me and showed me the new Marc Alexander fabric collection… It is so stunning!

The muted colors, rich textures, and delicate prints blew me away. This collection is what is inspiring me this week.

Here are some of my favorites from that showing:

From top left to bottom right: (chair) Artisan Colleciton, (striped fabric) Woodstock Collection, (textured fabric) Village Collection, (floral chair) Artisan Collection

The new collection has such a wide variety of styles and feels that, depending on how they are mixed and matched and what the application is, it could have a very elegant/ contemporary feel, or a delicate/ traditional feel.

It was so fun to get my samples in the mail and start playing with combinations of textures, stripes, prints and more!

For samples and/or to find out how these gorgeous fabrics could work in your home, give us a jingle!  But for now, I hope that you enjoy these lovely pics and maybe find some inspiration of your own!
 🙂

This shows more from the Artisan Collection.

the color purple

May 19, 2011

Today I’m taking a little color inspiration from the pretty purple Royal Candles and Geraniums flowers  that are outside of my office window…

Purple at home: 12 light chandelier by Cyan Lighting, abstract animal print wallpaper by Romo, and Theatre two seater sofa by DWR.

Purple in Life: carry-on luggage and garden hose sprayer from Crate & Barrel, and lavender infused sleeping blanket from Patina Stores.

Purple in fashion: watch by Marc Jacobs, leather heels by Michael Antonio, and Floral wrap scarf from Anthropologie.

What are you taking inspiration from today?
