bring the outdoors in
April 19, 2011
Here’s a quick photo reference guide on how you can bring the outdoors IN this spring and all year round!
a – Use a grass cloth texture on the ceiling. It brings the eye up, and adds another layer of texture to the space. (We used flooring material on the ceiling, but wall paper or a faux finish painter could do the trick as well!)
b – Stop by Bachman’s or your local green house and pick up a large potted plant. We placed Fiddle Leaf Figs in the corners of this front porch. (Make sure to read the care tag on the plant to see if it’s suitable for your space!)
c – A really easy way to bring the outdoors in is to cluster a group of 3-5 small plants on a tray or in a bowl in the center of a table. Be sure to grab plants of varying textures and heights for the ultimate effect.
d – Large windows also help bring the outdoors in on this front porch. In the summer months, the windows can be opened to bring in the sounds and smells of the nearby trees and lake.
